Introduction

Annecy, it is a beautiful city in southeastern France, often called the “Venice of the Alps.” It is located beside the clear, turquoise waters of Lake Annecy, surrounded by the French Alps.

Annecy is famous for its charming old town, where colorful buildings, narrow cobblestone streets, and canals create a picturesque atmosphere. One of its best-known landmarks is the Palais de l’Île, a historic stone building situated in the middle of the Thiou River. The Château d’Annecy, overlooking the city, offers impressive views and provides insight into the region’s history.

Lake Annecy is a major attraction, offering opportunities for swimming, boating, cycling, and walking. A cycling path follows much of the lake, making it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The surrounding mountains also provide excellent opportunities for hiking, skiing, and paragliding.

Annecy has a distinctly French Alpine character, combining historic architecture, lakeside scenery, and mountain landscapes. It is particularly popular in summer, when the lake and surrounding countryside are vibrant, but the area is also attractive in winter for nearby alpine activities.
